Background
Ketamine is increasingly consumed as a party drug in many countries. The white, crystalline powder is known by the street names K, Special K, Vitamin K, Kate, Keta, and Ketamine C and can be swallowed, snorted, or injected.
Side effects include horror trips or the so-called K-Hole, a state in which consciousness appears to detach from one’s own body after consuming ketamine. Ketamine can cause confusion and memory loss, which is why it is sometimes abused as a date rape drug.
